Watching the news tonight and there was a segment about the farmers not being able to harvest their yield. Some farmers are even willing to double their offer in paying potential employees to have their yield harvested. It is sad to hear about food not being able to be harvested because of the lack of workers. The other end some people in Australia being paid a multitude for doing nothing. It is best to encourage those who seek employment to go to those farms and work but it is difficult to get people to work particular jobs. Alternatively, a program should be organised with schools and farmers across Australia to promote seasonal excursions and have students travel to these farmers and help harvest the yields. This would be ideal to ensuring food to not be wasted and students would have an educational experience and schools can have a supply of fresh food seasonally.
